In general size (height and weight), moose are the largest animals in Montana. They can be up to 1500 pounds and up 7.5 feet tall at the shoulder.
The grizzly bear has about the same dimensions as the moose apparently. It is actually Montana’s state animal, and averages a height of 7 feet and a weight of 1500 pounds.
One of the biggest animals I have seen in Montana is the bison. They can weigh up to 2,000 pounds, and can be almost six feet tall. They are the most dangerous animal in Yellowstone National Park because people will go right up to them despite their size. Just last week a women was injured by a bison. She did throw a stick at it so I don’t feel much sympathy….http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGQQDFYlIAs
