It appears that the Ojos del Salado Pool in Argentina is the highest elevated lake in the world, sitting at 20,965 feet (or 6,390 meters) above sea level. Right behind it are three lakes located in Tibet–the Lhagba Pool, Changtse Pool, and East Rongbuk Pool.
Ojos del Salado is actually an active volcano and holds the place as the world’s highest one. The actual lake sits on the side of its eastern flank.
