What kinds of vegetables are good for container gardening?

The best vegetables for container gardens are ones that don’t get huge and that are quick to mature. That being said there are so many options. Tomatoes especially cherry tomatoes make great container plants. Other veggies such as peppers, eggplant, beans and peas grow wonderfully in containers. Root veggies such as carrots, onions and radishes also do very well. Annual Herbs such as Basil also make good container plants. Depending on the climate you can even grow perennial herbs such as sage, rosemary, and thyme in containers but know that you may have to lug them inside during a frost. The most important part of a container garden is getting the right water and sun for your plants. Plant plants with similar water and sun requirements together. Check the soil often to avoid drying out and root rot from over watering. Then enjoy all your hard work by eating all your yummy veggies!
