Buying an energy efficient tv can be quite a chore, mainly because the neccesary onformation is not clear and there are now many brands claiming to be green, with little proof. Smaller LCD tvs use the least electricity, compared to the very large televisions that are in no way energy-efficient. In the U.S, there are more than 250 million tvs that are using more than 50 billion kwatts of power annually, enough power to run NYC for a year. So it is definitely important to find an efficient model. Look for Energy Star rated tvs, this means they have fulfilled several standards set by the EPA. Tvs that have fulfilled this can be found at the following site: http://www.energystar.gov
