Volcanoes may spew into the atmosphere hydrogen chloride, hydrogen sulfide, hydrogen fluoride, and carbon dioxide, all of which can be considered poisonous or potentially dangerous to living organisms.
Sulfur dioxide is also emitted by volcanoes, and radon is produced by radioactive decay in stones.
