You can grow all kinds of plants in a compost bin, including flowers, tomatoes, potatoes, or herbs. Generally you merely follow the same procedures as you would were you growing the plant in soil. Hopefully growing your plants in a compost heap will ensure that they have plentiful nutrients, ensuring stronger roots and plant systems. Each year, just work more garden scraps back into the compost heap and you should be able to reuse it for planting in the next spring.
