Radishes contain high amounts of ascorbic acid, folic acid, and potassium. They are also a good source of vitamin B6, riboflavin, magnesium, copper, and calcium. One cup of sliced red radish bulbs provides around 20 calories, mainly from carbohydrates. Radishes are sometimes used as alternatives for a variety of ailments including whooping cough, cancer, and constipation.
