The fastest growing tree is the Royal Empress. It can easily reach over 20 feet in heigh in less than 3 years. There are, however, other types of trees that grow at similar rates.
Generally, deciduous trees have more fast growing trees than the evergreen species. Other fast growing trees include Willow Hybrid, Lombardy Poplar, Hybrid Poplar, and Eucalyptus trees. It appears that the willow and poplar families have built a reputation for fast tree growth, as well as, myrtles and maples next in line. To ensure quick tree growth, make sure the plant is healthy and have strong roots (not a wobbly trunk); also maintain good soil, water, and light conditions, along with, appropriate amounts of nutrients.
