Gas stoves typically use propane, natural gas, butane, or petroleum vapor as fuel. They all emit greenhouse gases, mainly carbon monoxide (CO) and carbon dioxide (CO2). Among them, propane has the lowest levels of emissions per amount combusted.
Natural gas stoves produce more green house gases, but are an overall better alternative to electric stoves. The production of electric stoves adds to nuclear waste and are less energy efficient.
