The air pollution that has the worst affect on plants is ground level ozone.  This chemical composed of nitrogen oxides and volatile organic compounds.  This pollutant effects the yields of agricultural and forest plants.  CFCs which destroy the ozone also have a profound effect on plants because of damaging UV rays.  Also, sulfur dioxide and other molecules that create acid rain damage plants as well.
