What kinds of soil is the best for planting crops?

Since every crop is different, each is adapted to grow better in different areas. Many rice crops require immense amounts of water, so the wetlands of Southeast Asia are best suited. Corn is well adapted to growing in temperate soils like those found in the America’s, while potatoes have adapted themselves to grow in the rocky soils they are indigenous to those in the Andes mountains of South America.
