Hurricanes occur in warm, balmy weather.
Warmth and slight to moderate humidity are both crucial preconditions to hurricane formation, as they work together to fuel the ocean evaporation which causes the water vapor that forms the clouds and storms which become the larger hurricane. The act of evaporation creates an energy transference that warms the air and cools the ocean, affecting wind shear patterns such that storms gain speed and cyclicity instead of dissipating as normal.
