Tomatoes are quite hearty vegetables. They have deep roots and thus can reach moisture at lower depths in soil. They therefore require less consistent watering, however they still require moisture, as all vegetables do.
Although beans are not vegetables, they are legumes, they are adapted to drought like conditions. Also root veggis are quite hearty producers.
Root vegetables (such a s potatoes, carrots, and beets) don’t need to be watered very much (though it should be consistent, with a small amount of water necessary every day). However, they do need large amounts of liquid fertilizer to reach peak health, nutrient content, and size.
