The type of scientists that study climate change varies depending on the aspect of climate change that is being researched. Everyone from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, to NASA, to independent biologists and ecologists have released studies on climate change. Some other organizations that have done important research on climate change are The American Meteorological Society, The American Geophysical Union and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. All this to say, the issue seems to be something that has an effect on a large portion of the scientific community, so the research is not limited to just one field of scientific study.
As bmalc889 said, many different types of scientists study climate change. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) includes scientists from numerous disciplines. Since IPCC scientists work together and check each other’s work, they produce the most reliable information on climate change.
