Well the two main types of ribs people eat are beef and pork. They are both bad for the environment. Growing livestock for the use of food requires feed (which obviously then needs fertilizer, pesticides, and transport costs) then the animals defecate (which is just more waste, and methane is created), and then they are sent to slaughter, and then more transport is needed, plus packaging to send them in the Styrofoam you would normally see your ribs in.
Not to mention that the animals are usually treated inhumanly (in fact in some places, the feed for livestock consists of chicken poop, rats, and rusty nails)
