    The Eurasian Eagle Owl is the largest owl species in the world. The female owl is 1/3 larger than the male, but of course size varies from individual to individual. The height can range from 2 to 2 1/2 feet tall and wingspan is about 5 1/2 feet wide. A large female can be up to 7 pounds and on average a male is about 4 to 5 1/2 pounds. Below is a photo:

     

    The Great Gray Owl is the largest owl in the northern hemisphere. The height is about 24-33 in, 27 for females and 26 inches for males. The wingspan can extend 60 inches. The adult weight ranges from about 1.3 to 4.2 pounds.

    The largest owls in the world are the Great Gray Owl and the Eurasian Eagle Owl. The Great Gray can be argued to be the tallest. It stands at 33 inches, while the Eagle Owl averages 25-31 inches. In terms of weight, the Eagle Owl is bigger. It weighs from 3 to 9 pounds, while the Great Gray only weighs 2 or 3.
