What kind of health effects does automotive pollution have?

    Automotive pollution is known to impair the body’s immune system, reduce the release of oxygen to muscle tissues, harm blood vessels, increase the likelihood of asthma in children, increase the risk of cancer, and cause respiratory problems.  It is thought that automotives have also lead to the increased level of obesity in America because of decreased amounts of walking.

    In cities with large amounts of smog due to car pollution many people, especially young children and older adults can develop asthma and other respiratory conditions like decreased lung capacity, increase chances of lung cancer, decrease the body’s immune system deficiency and even harm blood vessels.
