Since a recent spill at a natural gas facility, conservation officials have discovered violations regarding disposal of hazardous chemicals. These are more matters involving clean up of vehicles and equipment used in the natural gas facilities rather than the processes that make the natural gas. It is thought that methane used in natural gas production and another toxic agent caused these spills and could potentially leak such hazardous chemicals as freon gas. Natural gas production also uses volatile organic compounds (VOC) of toxic and carcinogenic chemicals, of which are not precisely known.
