Top Fuel dragsters burn 90% nitromethane and 10% methanol.  Nitromethane is produced by treating propane with nitric acid at very high temperatures.  It is often referred to as “nitro” and has been used in model airplaces and rockets.  It does not need much oxygen to burn.
