Fish larvae are the singular most at-risk organism following the oil spill. In particular, the blue-fin tuna population, whose spawning season was interrupted by the oil spill, has been devastated. The Gulf of Mexico is one of only two nurseries for bluefin tuna in the world, so the oil spill massively impacted the bluefin’s overall world population.
