The Holstein is known to produce the most milk on average of all dairy cows. They are usually black and white in color (sometimes they can be red and white in color). In addition, their milk tends to have less butterfat than milk produced from other dairy breeds.
The Israeli Dairy Cow is said to produce more milk than the dairy cows in the US and Europe. In 2009, they produced an average of 2,642 gallons of milk whereas the United States Dairy Cow produced 2,465 gallons and the European only 1,622 gallons annually.
