The United States and Brazil produce 90% of ethanol fuel, which accounts for 86 billion liters (23 billion gallons), whereas the total amount of biofuels produced is 105 billion liters (28 billion gallons), meaning ethanol fuel is the most common biofuel in the world. The European Union as of 2010 is the second largest producer of biofuel in the world and it produces 53% of all the biodiesel. The most common biofuel in the European Union is biodiesel.
