What kind of bear dig for moths on the side of a mountain?

Both Grizzly and Black bears have been reported as digging into the side of mountains in Yellowstone to find moths. These are American Cutworm moths and they come from many miles away to Yellowstone. There the hungry bears may devour thousands of them. This is more common behavior for the grizzly bear rather than the black bear.
