There are 3 different types of batteries for electric cars:

    • Lead-acid

They are the oldest, manufactures batteries, but they can be dangerous and don’t pack as much energy.

    • Nickel metal hydride (NiMH)

Which have and extremely high energy density, so even though they are small, they have a lot of energy.

    • Lithium-ion (Li-ion)

Have high energy density, and don’t loose their charge when not being used, unlike most others. Typically, these are the best for electric vehicles.
