River dolphins, crocodiles, and many fish live in the river. Parrots, marsh deer, and Bengal tigers live nearby.
The Ganges River is home to over 66 different species of freshwater fish, and the noted extinction candidate, the Ganges River Dolphin. The Ganges is extremely polluted by colliform bacteria, though, and may actually disappear by 2030.
