What kind of architecture is the best for energy efficiency?

Any building that is LEED certified is the best for energy efficiency.  Also any structure that has living walls/green roofs.  These can significantly cut down on energy costs because they naturally insulate the building.  Water costs are also reduced because rainwater can easily be collected for other uses with living walls and green roofs.
