What is an invasive species?

“an alien (or non-native) species whose introduction does, or is likely to cause economic or environmental harm or harm to human health.” That is the definition put forth by the National Invasive Species Council. Not all non native species are invasive – invasives tend to be fast growing and without natural predators in the new environment.
