The International Packaging Standards (also called International Standards Organization’s Technical Committee 122) is an initiative to develop standards for international packaging.  About 70 delegates from countries around the world met in Sweden to discuss topics relevant to packaging as it relates to the environment.  Topics include recycling, composting/biodegradability and energy recovery.  Final standards are expected to be finalized in 2012.
