The International Food Relief Partnership (IFRP) began in 2008 after the U.S. enacted the Food for Peace Act. The Food for Peace Act requires the USAID administration to provide grants to non-profit organizations for the preparation of prepackaged foods or the distribution of food resources. Together the USAID and Office of Food for Peace (FFP) work to alleviate food insecurity in emergency situations around the globe.
