What is “industrial ecology”? It sounds like an oxymoron.

    Industrial Ecology (IE) is a field of study and profession that focuses on the sustainable combination of the environment, economy and technology. The ideology central to IE is the balancing of natural and socio-technical systems. In this case, “industrial” refers more to how humans use natural resources in the production of goods and services as opposed to “industrial complexes”
