What is the importance of evapotranspiration in the natural water cycle?

Evapotranspiration is the part of the water cycle where vapor goes up into the atmosphere. The Evapo- part comes from the soil, when water evaporates from the ground. The transpiration comes from plants, when water evaporates from the plants. This is a key part of the water cycle because this is how the water goes from being on the land to back in the air. It rains, the water hits the ground and plants and everything, then it evaporates back into the air. It condences once more and the cycle begins again. Without evapotranspiration, the water cycle would have a very difficult time continuing.
