Hydrilla is an aquatic plant that grows from the bottom sediments to the water surface. The plant forms dense mats that interfere with boat motors and fishing gear. Also, hydrilla crowds out native aquatic plant species that may be vital to native fish and wildlife. Altered water chemistry also interferes with fish growth.
