A homogeneous mixture is when different substances that are similar are mixed. This could be defined as “a mixture which has uniform composition and properties throughout”. It is different from heterogeneous mixtures in that these combine substances that stay separated even when they are mixed. An example of heterogeneous would be mixing oil with water or soup. Homogeneous mixtures will combine much more thoroughly and you will not be able to see the difference substances that have mixed. Some examples include air, blood, or mixing food coloring with water.
