What is Hewlett-Packard’s Central Nervous System for Earth?

The idea behind HPs central nervous system is to create a way to monitor the world through different chips the size of a push pin that will be placed around the world.  This would help to monitor the status of bridges, traffic on roadways, weather conditions, track hospital equipment, sniff out pesticides and pathogens in food, or even “recognize” the person using them and adapt.  There would be billions of these chips placed around the world.  These chips would compute the world around them and give them the ability to have awareness about the environment they are surrounded by.
