Russian and American scientists created an element, number 118, called Ununoctium, which they said was the heaviest substance on Earth.  They were almost positive, even though it only lasted 1/1000th of a second.  Its atomic weight is 297.  It is the heaviest gas on the periodic table and has also been called the heaviest substance known to exist.
