Bad incendiary burns can result of someone being to close to white phosphorus while it is being used as a weapon or smoke screen. The smoke itself can irritate the eyes and if breathed in too much cause labored breathing, but it is not poisonous to inhale at any level. The ingestion of 15 mg of phosphorus more can be fatal.
