What has lead to the endangerment of the bluefin tuna?

    The bluefin tuna has been named the premier game fish for decades.  It has been extremely overfished to the point that its stock is 3% of its population size in 1960.  Also, the fishes in which the bluefin tuna eat are overfished including the herring and menhadden.  The bluefin tuna is feared to be going the way of extinction.
