Cities in America, such as Ann Arbor and San Francisco, are working on implementing LED street lights. They are a popular choice because they do not have to be changed frequently, and they provide somewhat flattering light. One problem that is hindering the use of LED street lights is that they may not be more efficient than sodium bulbs in terms of how much light they can produce per watt. Another overhaul may be cost, as the initial cost of LED lights may be shadowing the long-term money saving benefits they can offer.
