What has the Australian government done to stop global warming?

Australia has the largest per capita carbon emissions, and the previous administration, in power for over 15 years, did not acknowledge man’s role in global warming. The new Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, campaigned on the issue of global warming and promised change. After being elected, Rudd signed a climate deal promising to reduce Australia’s emissions in order to prevent the warming of the earth to increase further. He recently attended the summit in Copenhagen, giving a speech about working together to preserve the world for the next generation.
