So far, it appears the conference has achieved mostly symbolic victories. The attendees signed a declaration a few days ago, which commits signatories to work together to pursue clean transportation and mobility, and support national climate change legislation, the statement said. The document also acknowledges the need for adaptation efforts and recognizes the role of subnational governments in the discussions on the next global climate agreement in Copenhagen this December, according to a statement released by Schwarzenegger’s PR office.
