Tanning spray is considered to be safe. The main chemical is DHA (dihydroxyacetone) and that is not considered toxic. Studies show that your skin is more vulnerable when exposed to sunlight within 24 hours after using tanning spray, and other than that some people may see skin irritation with it. No long term studies have been available yet.
