The entire plastic bottle, including the wrapper, is recyclable. However, sometimes recycling companies request that bottle caps be removed due to them often being made from a different types of plastic. But, wrappers do not need to be removed, so they follow the same recycling process as the bottles. After plastic bottles have been collected, they are transferred to a plastic reclaiming company, where they are sliced into small bits, cleaned, melted and formed into plastic pellets. From then on, they could become anything from clothes to school benches to new plastic bottles.
