Explain all about water going into the lungs. How bad is it?
Usually, when you inhale water into your lungs, your lungs will reject the water and significant coughing will ensue. Your lungs will try to push out the water or any other foreign object that may have gone down the “wrong pipe.”
However, if you inhale a large amount of water, such as if you drown, your oxygen supply may be cut off and unconsciousness or death can result.
