What happens to recycled light bulbs?

Light bulbs that contain mercury are separated out, first.  The mercury obtained is triple distilled, and then typcially sold again into the market for different purposes.  The different components of the light bulb are then separated.  The glass is reycled or thrown out, depending on the market value at the time.  The aluminum is recycled out separately.
