What happens to the rabbits in a rabbit cull?

Culling refers to removing animals, usually by killing them.  With rabbits and other wildlife, this is often done through hunting as a means of population control, not for consumption.  In other words, rabbits in a rabbit cull are killed in order to reduce their population.  If a cull is called done, the rabbits are seen as pests.
