A recent study on male factory workers in China shows that their exposure to BPA, bisphenol A, seemed to cause increased erectile dysfunction, low sex drive and difficulty ejaculating. Since the chemical, which is commonly used to harden various plastics, closely resembles estrogen, it is unsurprising that it caused hormonal difficulties in people exposed to large amounts. Other studies have suggested that BPA can harm fetuses, and increase the risk of diabetes, heart arrhythmia and cancer.
