Cooking oil can clog up pipes if it is poured down a drain, back up sewers and give a nasty problem to waste water treatment facilities. The reason it does this is because as the oil cools, it expands and becomes a solid. A good way to dispose of cooking oil? Pour it in a metal can, place it in the freezer and dispose of it in the trash, one cooled.
