What is happening to the salmon population in the American River Watershed?

  1. 0 Votes

The Sacramento Bee reported in November 2009 that the salmon population is decreasing in the American River Watershed. Just 66,000 salmon made the 2008 Chinook salmon run, the lowest recorded in history. Biologists list many possible factors for this, many which are caused by humans and include loss of habitat, pollution, invasive species, water diversions, and climate change.
