What fish grows the most?

The largest fish ever to swim in the seas was an ancestor of plankton-eating sharks, some 72 feet long–but lived 155 million years ago. The whale shark is the largest fish still living, coming in at around 40 feet in length. They are peaceful creatures, and despite their size they are filter-feeders eating plankton and tiny fish.
