Though using solar panels or wind turbines to provide electricity to heat your home are certainly very green steps to take, there are cheaper and easier things to do. Instead of heating your home, learn to live with a little less heat — turn down the thermostat, wear another layer of clothes, curl up in blankets while watching tv, wear big comfy organic cotton socks! Properly insulating your home and closing the doors and heat registers of rooms that are unused help keep heat inside. Keep curtains open at south-facing or sunny windows on clear days, and close them when the sun sets to keep that natural warmth in.
